Dr. Ioanna Pagoni is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Tourism Economics and Management of the University of the Aegean, specialising in Sustainable Transport and Tourism. She holds a PhD in Transportation Engineering from the School of Civil Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens (2017), a Master of Science in “Business Mathematics” (2013) (jointly organized by the Athens University of Economics and Business and the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens) and a Diploma in Civil Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (2009). Dr. Pagoni’s career spans both academia and industry for 14 years. As a Researcher, she has been involved in several European and nationally funded projects (FP7, H2020, Horizon Europe, Erasmus+, etc.) and has published more than 80 scientific publications in journals and international conferences. As a Consultant, she has worked for various organisations worldwide in various transportation projects. She has also published more than 90 publications in esteemed journals and international conferences. Her areas of expertise encompass air transportation, sustainable mobility, travel demand analysis, emerging transport technologies, and travel and tourism. Finally, Dr. Pagoni is highly regarded as a reviewer for international journals and an active member of Scientific and Organizing Committees for international conferences. She has broad experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis, data modelling, econometric modelling, project management, as well as the provision of transport-related courses and trainings.
